For a customizer, this young kid has quality skills.  Here is a brief 5 minute video that shows Zombie Boy's custom lego works of art.  They are not for sale, it is just a hobby it does for fun, but I hope his video will give you inspirations for your own work.  Included are custom painted mini-figs, transformer wanna-bes, star wars and more.

What you should take from this video is that customizing is for all ages and that the sooner you start the more you can learn and have fun with custom toy making.  If you are feeling down look online for inspiration and you will find it.  Get to it, and have more fun than a ritalin-riddled kid with a million dollars worth of Legos.
